Here are the key recent developments at GSK:

Jideytro (zidesamtinib) — FDA Approval (July 22) The FDA approved GSK's first lung cancer drug, Jideytro, for previously treated ROS1-positive non-small cell lung cancer patients — nearly two months ahead of the September 18 target date. The approval came just one week after GSK closed its $10.6 billion acquisition of Nuvalent, the biotech that developed the drug. The pivotal ARROS-1 trial showed a 44% objective response rate, with 69% of responders still benefiting at 12 months.

This marks GSK's entry into the lung cancer market under new CEO Luke Miels, who took over in January with a goal of reaching £40 billion in annual sales by 2031. A second Nuvalent asset — neladalkib for ALK-altered NSCLC — is under FDA review with a November 27 decision date.

Camlipixant — Phase III Setback (July 17) GSK discontinued development of camlipixant for refractory chronic cough after mixed Phase III results. CALM-1 hit its primary endpoint at 12 weeks, but CALM-2 missed at 24 weeks, and key secondary endpoints were not met in either study. This is a blow to the $2 billion Bellus Health acquisition (2023); analysts had projected peak sales of over £2.5 billion. The drug continues in a Phase IIb trial for irritable bowel syndrome.

Ris-Rez — Positive Phase III (July 10) GSK's licensor Hansoh Pharma reported positive Phase III results for risvutatug rezetecan (Ris-Rez), a B7-H3-targeted antibody-drug conjugate, in relapsed small-cell lung cancer.

Stock GSK shares have been under pressure, trading below key moving averages, down modestly today (~-1.3%) around GBX 1,883.
